SAMPLE ITINERARIES OF THE BAHAMAS AND FLORIDA KEYS

Each Charter Is Unique!

The Bahamas are an archipelago of over 700 beautiful islands covering over 100,000 square miles! These islands offer you some of the most fantastic cruising grounds for all types of yacht vacations. With the Bahamas only 55 miles from the coast of South Florida, they offer convenience and economy. There are three excellent cruising itineries in the Bahamas... the Abacos, the Berry's, and the Exumas

A Sample Abacos Itinerary

DAY 1: Board your private luxury yacht in Marsh Harbour, located in the center of the island of Abaco. You will want to spend the afternoon and evening before your charter exploring Marsh Harbour as it offers several excellent restaurants and the best night life in the Abacos... start your charter with a "Bon Voyage Party"! When you set sail cruise over to Hope Town, one of the most picturesque harbours in the Bahamas. Dominating your view is the red and white striped lighthouse still in use. Set your anchor and then a swim in the warm, crystal clear water, perhaps a stroll on the beach, a rum punch, and then enjoy the first Bahamian sunset on your yacht.

DAY 2: Weigh anchor, and it’s a delightful sail north to Man of War Cay. This tiny atoll is a sleepy and well maintained settlement. Once anchored, dingy ashore and check out the Alburys, famous for their Bahamian smack boats.

DAY 3: Today it's a morning sail past Scotland Cay to Great Guana Cay. This Cay is a wonderfully undeveloped anchorage, with a beautiful long white sand beach. The Guana Beach Resort offers frequent beach barbecues... perhaps tonite you will dine their and dance in the sand.

DAY 4: Wake up with a swim and last stroll on the beach, the a over to the big island again and an anchorage at Treasure Cay.

DAY 5: Why not head north and visit New Plymouth, Green Turtle Cay, Crab Cay, and Nun Jack Cay. When you find your anchorage amongst these cays, drop the hook and kick back... swim, snorkel, make the rum punches, with music playing... you are in heaven.

DAY 6: Swim and breakfast, do you want to stay another day in these cays or move on? Ok, more sailing on to the anchorage that you debated at staying last night.

DAY 7: Today you begin the sail that you have been dreading... you are heading back to the base. Maybe one more night at Man of Way Cay, and that beautiful beach.

DAY 8: After breakfast, weigh anchor for the last time on this charter and back to Marsh Harbour and back to reality... or perhaps what you have just enjoyed for seven glorious days is reality! Once your yacht is docked it's time to bid farewell to your all of your new found friends and to start planning your next trip to the wonderful Bahamas or maybe next time the Caribbean.

A Sample Exumas Itinerary

DAY 1: Board your private luxury yacht in Nassau and cruise to all afternoon to Allan's Cay. Your first nights anchorage at Allan's Cay will provide you with a great antidote to what you left in Nassau... quiet. A beautiful anchorage, Allan's Cay has a nice beaches and the only residents are the wild iguanas which come out of the foilage and great you on the beach! They seem to say welcome to the islands mon.

DAY 2: This morning it's another swim and walk on the beach to say goodbye to your iguana friends. Weigh anchor, and it’s a delightful sail Highbourne Cay. This cay is a great place to pick up a funky t-shirt to go with your jolly mon sailing t-shirt. After your island exploration, it should take about an hour, you cruise south to Norman's Cay, where you will anchor for the night. Normans's Cay is a private island, dotted with private beach homes. There is beautiful lagoon in the center of the island, where you can dive an old plane wreck protruding through the surface. By the way, the fishing is terrific here

DAY 3: Today it's a morning cruise to Shroud Cay. This cay has pretty mangrove creeks to explore in the dingy and good beaches. Shroud Cay is located in the north end of the Exuma Cays Land n Sea Park and is a protected underwater park. Since there is no fishing here, sealife abounds and your snorkeling will be very interesting. Did you bring your underwater camera?

DAY 4: A three hour reach south to Sampson's Cay you will find a beautiful island in the middle of the "Pipe Creek" area of the central Exumas. We suggest tonight you eat ashore at a great native restaurant serving delectable native dishes, consisting of fresh fish, conch, and lobster.

DAY 5: Today you will snorkel a spot that looks awfully familiar. You are going to go to Staniel Cay, where the beautiful "Thunderball Cave" is. Remember the movie "Thunderball"? This spot you are snorkeling is where they made the movie! More good underwater photos to be taken...

DAY 6: Swim and breakfast, do you want to stay another day in these cays or move on? Ok, since it is a twelve hour cruise back to Nassau from Staniel Cay, we recommend starting back and stopping at anchorages that you want to see one more time or anchorages that you wanted to stop at but didn't.

DAY 7: Today you begin the sail that you have been dreading... you are heading back to Nassau. Maybe one more night at Allan's Cay, and that beautiful beach of iguanas.

DAY 8: After breakfast, weigh anchor for the last time on this charter and back to Nassau and reality... or perhaps what you have just enjoyed for seven glorious days is reality! Once your yacht is docked it's time to bid farewell to your new found friends and to start planning your next trip to the wonderful Bahamas or maybe next time the Caribbean.
